Tim Buckland has faced testicular cancer 3 times, starting with his first diagnosis at the age of 18. His battles have inspired him to focus his life and career on helping others who are battling the disease.
"This was the hardest struggle I have ever faced on a physical and emotional level. Although I fully believe that this experience is the worst thing to ever happen to me, it has shaped my life for the better."
Tim received a Master of Science in biochemistry and hopes to use his expertise to fight the disease that has shaped his life. He also works with the Society to coordinate 5 Relay For Life events in Alberta, which allows him to tell his story and help others on a cancer journey.
Relay For Life recognizes the tens of thousands of brave Canadians who have gone through a cancer journey, celebrates cancer survivors, honours those lost to the disease and provides all participants with an opportunity to continue the fight.
